Sales & Use Tax Seminar

Get the answers to your most "taxing" questions.  This full-day seminar is an interactive discussion of terms and taxability for contractors and includes both breakfast and lunch.  Our speaker, Scott Sliker will:

  • Review rules on taxing purchases of goods & services
  • Show us which forms you need to file, as well as how to prepare returns according to Department guidelines
  • Detail the rules for exemption certificates, certificates of capital improvement, direct pay permits, IDA letters, and QEZE certificates
  • Learn how taxpayers are selected for audit, how to respond to an audit letter, and what work papers and company records you should (and shouldn't) have available
  • Analyze when to arrange for a "reverse audit" to identify overpayments of tax, how to handle the audit conference and pre-assessment negotiation, and how to manage the administrative and legal tangle that follow an audit assessment
  • Review changes in law and regulations, and discuss current court rulings and administrative decisions.
